Jay.bionic, also known as Jason Glickman, is a University of Washington student in his junior year. Hailing from Camarillo, California, Glickman started taking classical piano lessons from the age of 8. Glickman took lessons until the age of 17, when he began taking jazz lessons from a prominent jazz pianist in Southern California. After moving to Seattle to attend the University of Washington, he began his foray into producing, utilizing his jazz and classical roots to create a blend of soulfully sampled loops with a traditional jazz sound. Now 21, Glickman goes under the pseudonym “Jay.bionic”, which is an homage to the multiple surgeries and other treatments he has undergone to treat an aggressive form of cancer. Under this stage name, he has made multiple productions, DJ’ed many parties at the Chi Deuteron chapter of Alpha Epsilon Pi, and recently begun working on a mix tape entitled Chronical Bionical. With an arsenal of production equipment, including MPC’s, keyboards, and a full studio setup, Jay.bionic is determined to take the music world by storm, combining live instrumentals and vocals with a produced sound that can only come from today’s cutting edge technology. Whether a fan of classic hip hop, ambient electronic textures, or jazz inspired chordal licks, Jay.bionic offers a little something for listeners of many different genres.
